Der Erstellung eines Data Warehouses liegen zwei Leitgedanken zugrunde (Quelle Wikipedia):

• Integration von Daten aus verteilten und unterschiedlich strukturierten Datenbeständen, um im Data Warehouse eine globale Sicht auf die Quelldaten und damit übergreifende Auswertungen zu ermöglichen.

• Separation der Daten, die für das operative Geschäft genutzt werden, von solchen Daten, die im Data Warehouse z.B. für Aufgaben des Berichtswesens, der Entscheidungsunterstützung, der Geschäftsanalyse sowie des Controllings und der Unternehmensführung verwendet werden.

1. OTP Bank Enterprise Data Warehouse project
1.1    Customer
OTP Bank is the largest Hungarian and East-European Bank, with more than 3.5 million customers. Retail/corporate bank with all banking product portfolio.
1.2    Project
Scope: Building Enterprise DW integrating all banking products, consolidated client information consolidating all business data from all legacy OLTP systems.
Project time frame: 2002-2006 still now
Project size: more than 12 000 man-days; DW size 4TB, 16 source system integrated, over 1000 reports and over 20 data marts

DW system live, 4th increment in development
1.4    DW technology, method
Development and run-time environment full Oracle products: RDBMS, IAS, Development Suite, Designer, Developer-Forms/Reports, Warehouse Builder, Portal Discoverer; Oracle Banking DW model used; custom and Oracle DW methodology used. Clementine used in data mining.

2    K&H Bank Enterprise Data Warehouse project
2.1    Customer
K&H Bank is subsidiary of KBC Bank. Is the 3rd largest bank in Hungary, with more than 1.7 million customers. Retail/corporate bank with all banking product portfolio.
2.2    Project
Scope: Building Enterprise DW with full coverage of MIS/Controlling data mart needs.
Project time frame: 2004-2005
Project size: 3200 man-days; DW size 1.5TB, 8 source system integrated, over 30 data marts
Prime contractor: Oracle Hungary
2.3    Project status
DW system live, 5th increment in development
2.4    DW technology, method

3    APEH Enterprise Data Warehouse project
3.1    Customer
APEH is the Hungarian tax office with 15 million of taxpayers.
3.2    Project
Scope: Migrating all SAS based decision data processes/reporting applications and building an enterprise DW for the TAX office.
Project time frame: 2005-2006, still running
Project size: 3000 man days; DW size 4.5TB, 10 source system integrated, over 50 data marts, over 1000 reports
3.3    Project status
DW system partially live, all other modules in testing and tuning phase.
3.4    DW technology, method
